Retirement savings firm Punter Southall Aspire’s CEO Steve Butler spoke recently to Sam Shaw. From early days at Equity & Law, through running Scottish Widows’ international operation in Jersey, to founding data and analytics business CAMRADATA and how that led to his current position at Punter Southall Group.

He shares his views of regulation today, the massive gap that sees thousands of people with pension pots of £20k-£100k often overlooked and one of the unintended benefits of the pandemic of encouraging more flexible working.

A published author and heavily involved in Diversity Project, Steve understands the challenges of ‘midlife’ in the workplace, he offers insights over running intergenerational teams, and gives advice to anyone wanting to run a more inclusive business.

Having grown by acquisition, Steve knows the importance of “focusing on culture because it enables various levers to be pulled to get us all on the same page.”
