Octo Member James Wetherall of Wetherall’s – a Manchester-based holistic financial planning and wealth management business – met with Sam Shaw recently to talk about how he’s encouraging more bright young things towards financial services as a career option, and not all paths need to lead to directly authorised status if you have a decent relationship with your network.

James talks about the untapped opportunities in many client existing banks for future intergenerational wealth transfer, offers advice for anyone considering a fixed fee advice model and explains why robo-advice – or permutations of it – aren’t for everyone.

We’ll have more from Sam this week from her series of on-the-road podcasts – stay tuned!
