Protection specialist Robyn Allen, director and adviser at Robyn Allen Solutions is calling for insurance to be brought into everyday conversations, because otherwise, “if people don’t have a particular life event to serve as a touch point, does that mean they shouldn’t have any cover in place?”
Most insurers focus on promoting life insurance “because it’s simpler to explain”, while the “selfish insurances” warrant more airtime, she says.
With some practical tips for harnessing the power of social media without crossing any compliance boundaries and how to balance a need that is now higher up everyone’s ‘to-do’ list since the pandemic with higher living costs.
“My first job is to make them understand what this can do and how it can help them. My next job is then to figure out what I can get for them with the money that they want to spend.”
Finally, Robyn urges insurers to utilise advisers more effectively.
