Openwork’s head of sales operations, Setul Mehta, joined us to talk about recruitment, financial education, and the value of a network.
Openwork is known for its work helping bring new adviser talent into the industry through its academy. Setul talks though the skills that are taught, not just qualifications but objection handling, sales skills, and softer skills in dealing with the public.
He remarks: “We shouldn’t think of new blood as those who are 21 and fresh out of university, it could be individuals who are teachers, accountants, solicitors, or chefs even, coming into this and we support them all”.
Setul also explains why he believes the adviser space is so chaotic and discusses how some advisers just want to see clients and have a trusted partner in the background.
