This month marks SimplyBiz chairman’s 50 years in financial services
A 31 minute watch

The SimplyBiz Group’s chairman Ken Davy spoke with Sam Shaw on his year in lockdown, climbing the hills of Huddersfield, and compressing his five-year technology plan into five months.
SimplyBiz has conducted over 2,000 remote compliance visits with “an even higher satisfaction rate” than their usual on-site visits.
From the start he told advisers,

“Don’t pretend you have all the answers – clients won’t expect that, just keep in contact with them and help them grow…”

He believes the pandemic will help extend the reach of financial advice, with the potential to see people up to 40% better off than if they didn’t take advice.

“I think we will see a sharper, more refined business model that will give advisers the ability to produce a service to be able to deliver assistance to the lower income groups. I think this idea that IFAs only deal with rich people is absolute nonsense.”

He also shares his four guiding principles over the past 50 years in the sector.
