A 33-minute watch.

Jason Butler describes himself as both intrepreneur and entrepreneur, and here sits down in the coffee booths with Lee Robertson to chat through his career, building and selling advice business Bloomsbury, his passion for delivering financial education with Salary Finance, and the Fintech ventures in which he’s invested.

Butler talks through the variety in his professional work, with one of his most recent roles taking the helm as head of financial education at Salary Finance, which aims to help employees ‘with their financial well-being at the point of receiving their salary’.

In addition, Butler is currently invested in four different Fintech businesses, and explains why it’s good to ‘step out of your comfort zone’ and ‘find something new each year’.

In terms of changes to retail funds sector, Jason points to three notable differences today. He also explains why he thinks the regulator is always ‘late to the party’, and why when it comes to choosing between advice and planning, you should always gravitate to what you’re good at.
