A 28-minute watch.
Steve Martin is a CFP and chief executive of Smart Financial, a financial planning firm based out of Manchester. In this snip from Lee Robertson‘s interview with him, Steve talks through his business, the industry, financial planning, the training academy, and advice for younger advisers.
Martin discusses the business’ core belief and “black and white rule” since launch that every client “gets full financial planning, every time, no exceptions”, adding “it’s good that more and more [advisers] are operating in this way”.
He stresses the importance of qualifications in providing great planning to clients, and that the CFP exams are probably “the toughest thing you’ll ever do”, but well worth it when “you’ve got that badge”.
Conversation moves to the training academy and how it works, and how they aim to “speed up the learning process” for participants.
For more in this vein, Beckford James’ managing partner Joe Maguire discusses the importance of financial planning here.
